Heart Meditation & Creative Writing Groups
Exquisite Alchemy
What an absolute gem of a find Vishwam’s writing groups are. I was drawn to attend Vishwam’s writing group, because I liked the sound of the mix of heart meditation and creative writing. I was intrigued, but I wasn’t prepared for the difference in my writing, when written from the heart centre. But what a distinct and palpable difference it is! I was seeking something. I didn’t know it was my own heart.
I joined at a time when I had lost my writing voice, I lacked confidence and I felt blocked to a point where I wasn’t writing at all, so I was pretty open to giving the group a go. Nothing to lose, right? As a trained group facilitator myself, I was impressed by the way Vishwam safely held space for us all, which meant I could just be in the group and allow the words to flow from me. All was welcome - the funny, the deep, the joy, the sadness, the vulnerability, whatever needed to be expressed was always held and welcomed. It was wonderful to hear the other writers share their words and startlingly beautiful to hear my own voice emerge again.
We can laugh and cry in Vishwam’s groups, sometimes both at the same time. Because of Vishwam’s support, humbleness, and guidance (for me, he became my cheer-leader, my champion, my delight-inspirer), I am now writing a book of short stories and a memoir. But that’s just me. I don’t feel Vishwam’s groups are there to guide you to write a book, unless you want to. And if you want to, I wouldn’t choose anyone else as a mentor. Vishwam holds space for all - for our ideas, fragments of writing, our hearts, for whatever feels the need to be expressed. And I found that I just needed to get out of my own way, to tap into my well of creativity and allow the flow of words to arise from my heart. Without Vishwam, that wouldn’t have been possible for me.
His incredibly big and gentle heart, his playfulness, his wisdom, supported me to unearth depths, originality and word-treasure, which resided deep in my heart and now on paper. Vishwam is a rare and glorious find. His groups have been inspirational and life-changing for me. He creates and holds space for exquisite alchemy.
I recommend Vishwam, and all his offerings, highly, from my heart to yours.

The Liberating Art of Writing from the Heart
…a wonderful 6-week course with Vishwam Heckert and his big heart. A lovely gentle zoom activity from the quiet of one’s own home with two meditations and space for writing and sharing if we wanted to. From the first week I felt more connected and enjoyed the flow state and ease of writing which comes from an open heart. Grateful for the space to meditate, create and share with kind people in a totally non-judgemental environment. Very healing for any old wounds around education / writing / performing etc. I didn't force myself to produce poetry or anything and it was ok. I've shed the need to deliver or perform or strive for positive feedback from clients or anyone else. Despite the high standard of writing in the group it was a joy to just share the few words that came. Highly recommend.

“In this world it is so hard to take the time to pause and just be, to allow one's authentic self to communicate with others and most importantly with ourselves. In this course Vishwam provided the space to do just that. To stop for a moment and just be, to experience the calm and the quiet and then let the words flow out onto our pens or our computers.
”This course has been an experience of growing and sharing, and in the words of self and others to find connections and metomorphosis. I cannot wait for the next one.”

A Wave in the Heart offers a powerful practice that supports you to tune in directly to the source of creativity and allow your heart’s imagination to flow freely. We’ve been enjoying these groups for some time and have all been surprised and delighted by the words that we find ourselves writing. Whether it comes out as flowing poetry, inspiring fiction, healing autobiography or other creative expressions of Life Itself, the heart always seems to know just what to say.

As we know, words have power. When we write from the heart, the words are helpful, healing and actually liberating. We find ourselves writing what we (and maybe others) are yearning to hear.
Our culture might encourage us to rush back into busy lives in January, but why not take it slow? It’s natural to enjoy quiet time in winter. To breathe in the gentle light of candles. To welcome the quiet of the dark. To go inwards and see what might want to come out. Find out more ->
