Heart Meditation & Creative Writing Groups
How to Choose?
Choosing a writing group or writing coach to work with is a big decision. Our writings can be very close to our hearts, precious to us.
Writing Groups or Courses?
Up until recently, we’ve referred to our groups as courses because there is structure, progression, development and other things we might associate with a course. But it’s become clearer to all of us that we we are sharing together is more of a community experience than a classroom exercise. We gather in circle as equals, connecting directly with the Source of all creativity, all imagination, all life and we share with each other the poems and stories and writings beyond description that emerge.
We now have two different groups running weekly:
Wave in the Heart is on a Thursday 8-9:30pm UK time. We have a nice rhythm of welcoming, sharing, and then dropping into heart meditation before free writing, sharing our pieces in small groups and coming together again to meditate and write more. Even though the freewriting sessions are short (5-7 minutes usually), they are remarkably productive. One poet in our group, for example, is delighted she has a whole new body of work because of coming to these sessions.
All are welcome, regardless of meditation or writing experience.
These groups are by block booking.
Next group opens on 10th January and runs until 14th February (Valentine’s special!).
The exchange for the block is £88. Instalment options are available.
Embracing Life is on a Tuesday 11am-12:30pm UK time. This group is more free form… We come into heart meditation together to start and then write as long as we want to as a group. As soon as someone in the group signals that they’ve stopped, we offer a new heart meditation for those who wish to join in. There is always the option to turn off sound and continue writing. After the meditation we decide together if we wish to keep writing or listen and read to each other.
This group is generally for more experienced and confident writers.
This group is open to block booking or drop-in guests.
Our current block finishes Thursday 15th December and we restart on Thursday 12th January.
Exchange for a six week block is £88. Instalment options are available. Drop-in guests are asked for £15 in exchange.

Writing Group Testimonials
What an absolute gem of a find Vishwam’s writing groups are. I was drawn to attend Vishwam’s writing group, because I liked the sound of the mix of heart meditation and creative writing. I was intrigued, but I wasn’t prepared for the difference in my writing, when written from the heart centre. Somehow, I hadn’t made that connection before, with my writing. But what a distinct and palpable difference it is! I was seeking something. I didn’t know it was my own heart.

The Liberating Art of Writing from the Heart
…a wonderful 6-week course with Vishwam Heckert and his big heart. A lovely gentle zoom activity from the quiet of one’s own home with two meditations and space for writing and sharing if we wanted to. From the first week I felt more connected and enjoyed the flow state and ease of writing which comes from an open heart. Grateful for the space to meditate, create and share with kind people in a totally non-judgemental environment. Very healing for any old wounds around education / writing / performing etc. I didn't force myself to produce poetry or anything and it was ok. I've shed the need to deliver or perform or strive for positive feedback from clients or anyone else. Despite the high standard of writing in the group it was a joy to just share the few words that came. Highly recommend.

“In this world it is so hard to take the time to pause and just be, to allow one's authentic self to communicate with others and most importantly with ourselves. In this course Vishwam provided the space to do just that. To stop for a moment and just be, to experience the calm and the quiet and then let the words flow out onto our pens or our computers.
”This course has been an experience of growing and sharing, and in the words of self and others to find connections and metomorphosis. I cannot wait for the next one.”
— Harmony

A Wave in the Heart offers a powerful practice that supports you to tune in directly to the source of creativity and allow your heart’s imagination to flow freely. We’ve been enjoying these groups for some time and have all been surprised and delighted by the words that we find ourselves writing. Whether it comes out as flowing poetry, inspiring fiction, healing autobiography or other creative expressions of Life Itself, the heart always seems to know just what to say.

As we know, words have power. When we write from the heart, the words are helpful, healing and actually liberating. We find ourselves writing what we (and maybe others) are yearning to hear.
Our culture might encourage us to rush back into busy lives in January, but why not take it slow? It’s natural to enjoy quiet time in winter. To breathe in the gentle light of candles. To welcome the quiet of the dark. To go inwards and see what might want to come out. Find out more ->
