Emerging

When the butterfly emerges

from the cocoon, she does not

leap into flight.

She seeks the light of the sun,

comfort

warmth.

Sitting quietly

wings fanning themselves dry.

There is no rush, my friend,

to become what you will become.

Be as you are. Rest in the sun.

Let light fill your wings

and carry you aloft.

These wings of joy bring you

to nectar so sweet

drink deep

sharing beauty

with all.
